Here is your quick Weekly WordPress Update from Valerio. If you would like us to cover something specific, please let us know!

WordPress 5.2.3 release candidate is available for testing and the final version should be released next Wednesday, September 4th. This minor release aims to fix 25 bugs, improvements to the block editor, accessibility, internationalization, and administration.

Our clients will have two updates scheduled next week so that they can start using the new version as soon as possible.

Don’t forget that WordPress 5.3 is scheduled to be released in November 12th.

If you want to learn more about how our maintenance plans can help you secure your website, you can send us an email to sales@valet.io and you’ll get in touch with Maureen.

An European PHP conference called phpCE, scheduled for October 4 and running for 3 days has been cancelled due to lack of Speaker Diversity. The speakers announced were all white males which generated public criticism, leading to speakers canceling their engagement.

The WordPress community hosts dozens of conferences around the world each year. The WP Foundation has started Diversity Speaker Training that is aimed at improving the quality and diversity of speakers on the stage. See the video below to see how this is working.

This is it for the week and if you’re located on the East Coast of the United States, please be safe this weekend!
